NEW DELHI: Saina Nehwal's jinx at the India Open Super Series badminton continued as she was knocked out of the tournament losing to Japan's Yui Hashimoto 21-13, 12-21, 20-22 in the second round in controversial fashion on Thursday.
This was the third time in a row that the World No.2 has failed to reach the quarterfinals. Apart from the Saina setback, India had a fruitful day at the Siri Fort Sports Complex with seven Indians, including five men, booking berths in the quarterfinals in singles events. No Indian pair could advance in any of the doubles events.
